1. Why is 1Cover Insurance so inexpensive?
For starters, we only sell directly to the public.Because we do not sell through Travel Agents you do not have to pay them commissions of up to 50% on your policy. We don't maintain a shopfront. Because you buy online and your policy is delivered instantly via email, our overheads are also lower. This means we can pass those savings to you.
2. What are the countries that are classified under ASEAN, Asia and Worldwide?
ASEAN Region includes Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam
ASIA-PACIFIC Region includes ASEAN, Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China (excluding Tibet), Fiji, Guam, Hong Kong, India, Japan, N. Korea, S. Korea, Sri Lanka, Mongolia, Macau, Maldives, New Zealand, Pakistan, Papua New Guinew, E. Timor, and Taiwan, as well as other Pacific nations.
Worldwide excluding North America Worldwide excluding North America includes ASEAN, Asia-Pacific, Nepal, Tibet and the rest of the world excluding the United States of America and Canada
Worldwide including North America includes anywhere in the world, including the United States of America and Canada
3. Is there an age limit to purchase Travel Insurance?
No. There is no age restriction to purchase our insurance policy. However please refer to the benefits limits of the policy for detailed benefits in respect of dependants (aged less than 18 years (or under 23 years old if still studying full-time in a recognised institution of higher learning) or adults aged over 70 years.4. Can a policy be issued after the journey has already begun?
No. Our policies are all designed to be taken out prior to you commencing travel.5. Can more than One policy be issued for the same trip?
Each traveller is entitled to ONE policy only. This policy may include multiple people, but each individual is to be insured by no more than ONE policy during their trip.6. What happens after the online application has been completed?
Once the premium has been paid by credit card, a confirmation email, which includes the Certificate of Insurance and Policy Wording, will be sent to you immediately. The Certificate of Insurance contains your policy number which you must quote every time for us to render assistance promptly.
7. How do I get my 1Cover Travel Insurance policy?
Your policy is generated instantly after your payment is processed. You will receive an email immediately with your Certificate of Insurance and Policy Documents attached. You are covered for cancellation benefit 30 days prior to your scheduled departure, and it will expire at the moment of your scheduled departure. The rest of your cover starts on your date of departure.
8. How long does it take to apply for the insurance?
If you apply online or over the telephone and pay using your credit card then it only takes 5 minutes to be covered.9. Can I buy 1Cover if I do not have a credit card?
At present our insurance can only be purchased using Visa or Mastercard.10. How do I contact you from overseas?
Once you have purchased travel insurance with us, we issue you with a certificate of travel insurance. On this certificate is our 24 hour emergency number which you can call at anytime.
Our Sales department is also on this certificate and can be contacted during opening hours.
11. What is a dependant?
A dependent means your unmarried children or grandchildren that are not in full time employment, who are under the age of 18(or under 23 years old if still studying full-time in a recognised institute of higher learning) and who are travelling with you on the journey.
12. Will you fly me home if I fall sick overseas?
If you become seriously ill or injured overseas, we will cover the cost for your medical transfer or evacuation, so long as this is approved by us.
13. What happens in the event of a terrorist attack?
Generally any claim arising directly or indirectly from an act or threat of terrorism is excluded under the policy, unless it's otherwise stated in the benefit.
14. Do you cover for Bird Flu?
Any claim as a result of an epidemic or pandemic or a threat associated with an epidemic or pandemic is excluded under the policy.
